I did my piston rings today, all went smoothly, im just taking it easy not going above 6k revs at the moment

Might post up some pics soon if i can be assed Razz

Try changing the piston.. the circlips on the rod are a cunt to put on! lol

Head and cylinder off.


Head and cylinder before being cleaned up.


Cooked? what you reckon knackered?


Quite a bit of carbon deposit


After some very fine wet and dry with oil on,


There are no marks on the piston from the wet and dry, i also wet and dried the inside of the barrel to get rid of any glaze,

Nothing to do with my bike... well there is a helmet in the pic haha

Heat sieze?

Looks like there is combustion passing the rings, so you need an oversize piston..
You have the barrel honed?

Its not supposed to go past the rings, thats why they are there..

Only the crown is supposed to be a brownish colour Smile
Looks like your getting loads of heat through the piston, im guessing if you look inside the piston (turn it upside down) it will be a dark brown/ black? lol

So running leanish?

most probly because the piston rings were in need of being replaced?

well its all cleaned off so ill see how it goes

it was either the rings when they were fooked all when he had a endy system on there and didnt rejet cos it belonged to his mate. and greg im guessing you are on about blow back aint ya lol

They might be if you are using a plug whilst wearing oven gloves yeah hahah.

Otherwise a steady hand and long nosed pliers gets them in peice of piss.


Nice one will, glad you finally got round to it matey. Noticed if it starts or runs any better?

My bikes still not as fast as when i got it though, any other ideas? loss of compression?
