you won't be banned for hyperlinking the thread. you might be if you hyperlink full revs and the mods see it

Re: looking for Morgan

Post by Bluecollarlove on Fri Oct 30, 2009 7:23 pm

Hmmm.

This is strange. I see AF1 haven't banned my IP address (well, my friend's IP address whose ISP I use) so technically, I could log back in and tell those stoopid idiots on the thread that I wasn't banned for trying to sell anything!

ANYWAY. What's the point in going back to a forum that I've been banned from? If I went back, I'd just be treading on eggshells and likely to get banned again. They called hyperlinking to this site x2 'spamming'. But as far as I can tell, you guys have more expertise in breaking errr.... 'reassembling RS50s' than the rest of the planet, having crashed and modified every RS50 combo possible ;D

In my books, if anyone did a big no-no on a public forum, then one of the moderators would email/PM and tell the offender. AF1 never bothered telling me and just outright banned me for 2 weeks.

I'd be the first to 'fess up that I might've screwed up and maybe I shouldn't have hyperlinked the www.full-revs.com website. It's hard to know though: the link was relevant for the newbies. If AF1 didn't agree, they could've had the courtesy to tell me so. Otherwise, it just makes me lose respect for them.

I've lost respect for them Smile

I've moved over to the larger RSV Factory forum! I know it's called defecting, but when you're pushed, it feels like home Very Happy

Slept with someones mrs' in france!? lol!

Haha. That's really disturbing! Funny. But no Smile

well, i guess you have your answer, sir, which is hopefully good enough. Silly as it seems, it is much like any backlash by any power... always swift and strong...always just beyond what would seem right.

Of course, Morgan, you were merely caught in the proletarian backlash, and maybe should be able to forgive their protean natures...or maybe not...

Re: looking for Morgan

Post by Bluecollarlove on Fri Oct 30, 2009 8:37 pm

Lol.

I could, but at the end of the day....AF1 is a commercial forum, aimed at supporting their own business (disclosure of interest). I think they'd be happier with guys who post purely technical stuff on bikes, so that they can concentrate on their core business. I'd be doing them a favour by leaving - Very Happy

One thing that befuddles me, is how organisations can adhere to the banner of democratic principles, and practice independently, quite within their own rights, as a non-state subsidy. However, democratic values are then, illusory, rather than lived out (or 'incarnated', according to Merleau Ponty) in practice and example...!

and away we go, back to the discussions of the off-topic section of AF1... I just thank the lord that there are no aesthetes here yet...

i think the thing you are confusing is that they are not adhering to democratic principles, they are adhering to capatalistic principles... and as we all know, capitalism is the ultimate totalitarianism... one of tyranny of profit...

Lol ~ that just about describes AF1!

Aesthetes?! Lol. Should I ask Waxxer to pop on over too? Smile I haven't heard from him in sometime though.....

Well, that's true. In the wider scheme of things, I guess I won't be ordering anything off AF1 ever again! Guess they won't miss that as they clearly want a forum which doesn't encourage cross-referencing and wider expertise to be shared....

yeah, i could do without waxxer, really... it was always strange to me how aggressive he was. They say you can tell someone's class assignment by how they react to things. So there that is...

I have not had any problems with af1, and did not foresee any, especially not for you. but then again, my psychic abilities are quite lacking...

but anyhow, i seem to be the only american on this board, what's up with that?

And i also seem to be the only non-moderator on... hmm... afraid i would revolt and start my own country?

Well I know sometimes Waxxer gets people's nerve ends on edge but that bothers me less than others accepting compliance or appeasement as the moral 'norm'. You're prob. right that people reveal themselves in the way they communicate, and Waxxer or I would be no different.

I suppose I'm always looking for the kernel of humanity hidden within, rather than the appearance on the surface. In England, the art of dissimulation; of politics and 'stiff upper lip' decorum is so strikingly pervasive, that it is at times, hard to recognise the human in anyone at all ... behind such a mask. Maybe this is why, I find it easier to relate to others who have rough edges, but a good heart hidden within.

Wasn't Socrates exactly the same? Montaigne describes him as being the ugliest man alive in Greece - ridiculed and jeered at for his dishevelled appearance, but his mind .... was so pure and clear of the assumptions of his age. Thus, the Socratic method: unmasking the beauty of truth, behind the mask of beauty, which sells itself, as surface turth.

Yeah~ this is a very very small forum! You prob. are the first American on the forum! Let's see how long you last before the teenagers here have your balls for breakfast (j/k).

Craig gave moderator rights to a lot of us. It's mostly name only since all I can do with my moderator powers is a) spell check b) correct Bennyboy's spelling c) add punctuation where it is lacking. Lol. Still, I like being useful Smile

Re: looking for Morgan

Post by whitebrad on Mon Nov 02, 2009 9:42 am

yeah, waxxer used to just resort to insult so fast, then feign some sort of innocence. But whatever. I always wondered, when i was trying to simmer some of that name-calling down, why i was vilified! But it just shows what is what in some sense. I really never have minded heated debate, though calling me a cocksucker is a good way for to get stomped out. There, i show my low class breeding, but as i am so fond of saying... i don't have much of a talk game, but my fight game is pretty good!

ah! alas, the american in me! we are so crass compared to your stiff upper lips... heart, which is what i like to think is the good side of emotion. Like the fatherly instinct i have in protecting my son, shows the good side of rage, the pure side of emotion. Mean-ness, on the other hand, the bully mentality, always shows the sick side, the weak and heartless side, the ugly side of people and their desire to cause harm. Maybe that is the difference. The imbalance of strength, and the imbalance of power, or maybe the misuse of strength as a weapon toward the helpless... I cannot stand a bully. they make me think that there is a wonderful place for extreme violence... but i digress, as usual

don't mind being the only yank here. hope i can represent well for our little shithole

Re: looking for Morgan

Post by Bluecollarlove on Mon Nov 02, 2009 10:33 am

I don't know ... maybe he just got tired of experiencing the kind of 'Merkan' culture and used insults to push others away.

I had a friend in Canada who was like that: he was very off-standish and deliberately came across as a weirdo. He wasn't like that at all..well, apart from growing up as an orphan.....but he used social skills (or the lack thereof) to push idiots away. That way he didn't have to contend with people he couldn't be bothered with.

Whereas! In England, we contend mostly with people we couldn't be bothered with Sad

I like American culture ~ that is - American high culture! Being a father is a huge learning curve too, and it often takes that kind of fatherly love to bring out the man in any single batchelor Smile

There are quite a few bullies in the world: I guess in America, people are more blunt or to the point; in Canada, people don't like to get upset in public or show emotion quite so easily. The sociopaths we call 'government' here in the UK, smile sweetly and proclaim charity and justice as moral values, and then go home ~ to their second home ~ paid for by tax payers to enjoy luxury and paid for gardeners and porno videos on the tax payers tab.

That kind of duplicitness offends me far more than say, an uncouth Harley rider and his pot belly lol!

America is such as vast place; I guess you live in the People's Republic of Colorado which has its own subculture? Smile I live in Londonistan, which is its own Republic within Englandistan, the People's Republic of Bureaucracy ...
