Project arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh 125 Dtr

Post by Benneyboy on Mon Mar 01, 2010 1:42 am

right then heres my new thread to get the forum going again and get every one some fun, brought my d tr 98 plate for 340 as a non runner , (dirty carb) had been sat up for nearly 8 months straight in the outside weather so things were never going to start good

first mot fails ; bottom shock bush inside out on front , low beam element burn out right , rear pads too worn OK
re test : passes on everything bar the pads as i couldn't get them in on order in time so when took back to test i asked them to ft them , then leave bike at shop for the day and come back next day " sorry mate you still ain't got a mot the rear caliper is seized onto the sliding pin !!!, so im like for gods sake ill buy the pads take the bike home gain and heat the caliper up and fit them and bring the bike in next day , start riding bike home and do a over take on a car as i do the bike suddenly becomes very loud lol (thought intake had come away form carb as i knew it was lose. get home and guess what were the bikes been sat so long in the elements the bloody chambers blowing a great chunk out itself

guess what i get the bike home that day start hitting the caliper up and giving it some shit with a rubber mallet and right naer the end where the caliper nearly came of guess what ? the caliper hanger snapped lol , my bikes been a right pain but too be fair i payed 340 for her non running and she still had 3 days tax on her on that weekend i brought her so i got to ride her only reason it didn't run carb gummed up bike had been sat up for nearly 9 months straight lol.

the thing is i know the bikes last two owners weren't exactly caring lol so now its tlc time.

bikes current staus is strppied right down for preeping and paint pics to come tonite as me cams broke and me mobile is as well and the missus is working till 8.30 lool Very Happy

Careful mate, if you don't get it re-mot'd within 10 working days of it failing then you have to have another full re-test, basically meaning you'll have to pay again!

What a a bastard with the caliper though! Sad
I had it once at the garage and ended up getting the oxy-acetlene out, that gets shit hot lol.

So you just need another mount? not another caliper?

As for the exhaust you could just weld that up eh......

Good bargain though for £340. Is it one you're going to be running or is it a do up and sell jobby?
